Sponsorship opportunities range from the “Platinum Sponsor†($1,500) to the Bronze Sponsor ($250) and include sponsor signs at various holes, recognition in advertising and on special event banners. Many opportunities are still available.
“Without the support of community members and local businesses, we would not meet our fundraising goals, said Jocelyn McCarver, Executive Director of Youth at Heart. “Growing up in low-income homes, many youth are left unattended during the summer and do not get a healthy lunch or an opportunity to enjoy recreational activities. The proceeds from our Tee Up event directly impact the lives of youth living in Tulsa Housing Authority complexes.â€
Youth at Heart, a 501(c)(3) United Way agency, provides educational and recreational after-school and summer programs for youth ages 6-18 who live in Tulsa’s public housing communities and low-income apartment complexes (Apache Manor, Comanche Park, East Central Village, Mohawk Manor, Morning Star, Normandy Parkview Terrace, Riverview, Sandy Park, Seminole Hills and South Haven Manor). Youth at Heart also manages nine recreation centers located in these communities. More than 3,800 inner city youth participate in Youth at Heart programs.
Youth at Heart’s educational, cultural and recreational programs provide an effective alternative to idleness, vandalism, school truancy, drug use and gang-related activities. Inner city youth benefit from tutoring, league sports, summer camp, character building and life skills training, crime prevention awareness and community service activities.
Youth at Heart recreation centers keep kids “off the street†by providing a safe, supervised environment for youth to hang out, play, study, engage in team sports and develop social skills and values.
